Cross-Examination is a style of debate in which the interaction between two teams consists of a brief 3-minute interrogation of the speaker by the opposing team. The member of the opposing team who participates in the cross-examination is always the member who does not speak next. Cross-ex is a style used primarily at the senior-high level, although some tournaments at the junior-high level may opt for it instead of Discussion.
