Squirreling is the act of defining the Scope of the debate differently than it is intended to be defined (similar to strawmanning), so as to throw the opponent off guard. It is generally frowned upon, but many teams use it as a Strategy. It used to be grounds for Silent Disqualification, but as of the 2007-08 season [in which country?], it became grounds for Open Disqualification as well, even though this is not within their jurisdiction.
